It’s a pretty eye opening dichotomy of numbers, first it makes us all wish we bought more real estate 10 years ago and second makes one wonder about today, and tomorrow.
For today, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, “LOW INVENTORY” still dominates the headlines. It has to. We’ve always said when the count is under 10,000 homes for sale, things are pretty tight. Today, it’s under 5,000. Interest rates are on the rise which has been predicted by many to quell the pricing, but the law of supply and demand trumps all, so for buyers it’s looking like both higher prices and higher rates will be the reality.
The Twin Cities Real Estate 10 YEAR CHALLENGE tells a very clear story… Sellers, you’re still in the driver’s seat and there’s no reason to wait, this is the lowest number of homes for sale since anyone started counting.
