Pumpkin + Planter Perfection

It’s time to prioritize your home’s pumpkin + planter perfection! While Fall doesn’t last as long as Summer and certainly not as long as Winter, decorating your home with all of the festive Fall favorites seems to remain high on the priority list. From pumpkins and gourds to mums and ornamental kale, Fall just has such a fun list of fabulous décor/plants to amp up the curb appeal. Being in Minnesota, however, does pose the issue of dropping temperatures, especially over-night, but there are a handful of plant options to choose from that are known to do better than others during the crisp Autumn season as well as dry foliage that you don’t need to worry much about at all. And pumpkins, of course, can hold out for quite some time! Keep reading for tips to make your way to pumpkin + planter perfection!

PUMPKINS

Let’s talk pumpkins first because let’s be real, they are ultimately the shining star during this time of year. You can’t go wrong with a classic, bright orange, symmetrical pumpkin. However, you really got to let their beauty stand out by mixing them with a diverse group of other gourds that vary in color and irregular shapes – this is where things really get fun! White pumpkins are where it’s at from a classy and clean décor standpoint. Pairing white pumpkins with the orange creates a color contrast that truly dazzles. Then, throw in some warty, oblong shaped guards of various sizes with yellow, orange, green, and white coloring to bring a texture + color array that will be sure to impress and will give your home that festive Fall feel without being tacky.

Pumpkins are great as standalone items on your doorstep, diversely layered on each step leading up to the door or as accent pieces in a window box or planter. No matter how you decide to decorate for the season, we highly suggest that you show some pumpkin love and incorporate goofy yet gorgeous gourds as part of your curb appeal.
