Help Prevent Homelessness

Our Team Lead, Ben Johnson, is at it again… he is sleeping in a makeshift tent out in the cold all night in an effort to raise money to HELP PREVENT HOMELESSNESS!

Help Prevent Homelessness

The Sleep Out campaign is a full on community effort and fundraiser powered by Interfaith Outreach with a goal to raise nearly half the annual budget needed to help 2,000+ local families in need. This year marks the 26th annual Sleep Out campaign ! The campaign consists of a series of events and experiences over an 8 week period that raise awareness and an impressive $3 million to prevent homelessness around the local community.  Ben is super involved with Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners and takes his sleep-out role very seriously all with the goal to help prevent homelessness!

Tonight, 12/8 is the big night and the temperature forecast is sitting at a chilly 18 degrees! As crazy as it seems that Ben and the other participants would choose to brave that kind of cold throughout the night, it’s important to remember that there are far too many people within our local communities that are doing the same but not by choice. Homelessness of course happens all throughout the country but the frigid Winters here in Minnesota prove to be a heightened hardship for those spending the cold season without a home. Interfaith Outreach has been taking action to “prevent homelessness and create opportunities for everyone in our community to stabilize, strengthen and thrive” for 26 years now!Help Prevent HomelessnessBen has a personal fundraising goal of $10K and will gladly match all of his generous donations until that goal is met. So far he’s just a little under $2k shy of his goal and would love to have it met by the time he braves the cold tonight! Find out more about the event and donate here if you can. Spread the word for an excellent cause – help prevent homelessness!
